Stephen Atallah is a structured trade and development finance professional with deep industry expertise and a proven track record arranging innovative financing solutions for projects and transactions in challenging credit markets. He is active in developing unique long-term project debt for public clients in Africa with the support of agencies including OPIC and MIGA. Mr. Atallah led Deutsche Bank’s America’s Structured Trade and Supply Chain Finance business, having built the bank’s largest receivable finance business.
Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Mr. Atalllah was Managing Director for Societe Generale, heading its Structured Trade Finance team in New York, originating term finance for clients in support of their global trade. As Deputy Head of its Export Finance division in Paris, Mr. Atallah expanded the bank’s trade business into new markets and built its trade asset distribution platform, being among the first to place emerging market trade debt in the capital markets, andbeing involved in pioneering the first export loans to Russia, Angola, Ukraine, and Turkmenistan.
Mr. Atallah graduated from Georgetown University Law School and practiced law for six years, including three at the US Export-Import Bank’s General Counsel’s office. Here, he negotiated and executed loans and guarantees for US companies and their foreign clients.
